Living with Lupus for 20 years09/10/2010 03:09:07
I had symptoms of lupus in my twenties. I am soon approaching my 50th birthday. It took several years to figure out why I felt so crummy all of the time. I am very fortunate. I have two grown sons, a demanding job as a nurse and have learned to live with my lupus.I still go outside but just cover up. I get the rest I need. I eat right and try to take care of my health. I have muscle aches, dry eyes, sores in my mouth, hair loss, anemia, extreme fatigue and may have the beginnings of issues with my kidneys -- high blood pressure and edema. My advice is stay as active as you can. Don't let it get you down. Live your life -- don't let the lupus control you and limit you.
