one more time, i'll try to get something down...07/15/2008 03:07:50
Living with Lupus - I had such good intentions of writing in the journal daily - yet here I am after missing more days than I care to count... so back at it --
Today was one of those days where the Lupus lets you (okay, me alright...) know from the moment you wake up that it is going to be a struggle. -- As a Lupus patient who was diagnosed at the age 15, one thing that I remember mentioning over and over again during my exams was that I had an irregular period, to which I was told that getting the Lupus under control was more important at the time. -- so after having an irregular period for over 25 years, recent lab work has revealed than in additon to Lupus I have an extremely low estrogen level, and my serology is such that I can not receive the usually prescribed 'estrogen replacement therapy' - so to help reduce the symptoms that I have been recently experiencing, I started a new medication on Monday and the effects have been almost immediate, at least for me my body tends to fight off any new med as an invader, one of the side effects of having a compromised immune system (Lupus) so it takes a few weeks to settle into my body's system and begin to work, not that I am making excuses for my lack of journal entries I just wanted to demonstrate that I had good intentions, (forgive the pun) anyway I hope to wrirte more over the weekend.
I want to thank you guys for caring enough about Lupus patients to do the research before you produce the campaign.
