Greetings

I found this site based on the commercial. A lot of good information here. I realize the site is primarily geared towards women. I'm in that small percentage of males with a recent diagnosis of lupus, and also have one for RA. I've heard two confliting things about men with lupus. There are some sites that say lupus manifests more severely in men than women. Then I spoke to a rheumatologist recently that said the opposite. Has anyone heard this, one way or the other?

I do not think it is geared to women, it is just that the women post more frequently than do the men. There have not been a lot of men posting and you are the first I have responded to. I really have very, if any knowledge of how it affects men, I think that many times the men are reluctant to "let it all hang out" so to speak. Yes the sites, postings and diaries are very in formative. I am sorry that you have Lupus, it is at times a very rough way to go. RA seems to go hand in hand with Lupus, but Lupus can manifest itself in many ways given that it is a disorder of the central nervous system. My mother her sisters and her mother and myself all have Lupus and I suspect that my daughter has it also. I see some things in my youngest brother that make me believe that he has Lupus also but his Dr. does not think he does. I wish you well in your journey through life and pray that your Lupus will be in remission and stay in remission. Blessings Harriett
